DREAM4Health

Today marks the last day with the last meeting ended 30min later than scheduled. For the last 4 days, it has cconsistently ended 1h behind schedule. What was this schedule and what was the meeting about? When I received the email requesting me to serve on a selection panel of an important grant award, the frist question Ihad was: how did they find out about myself? It took me more than two weeks to responded and make the arrangement more than a month to be able to say , "kay I will do it." Buddha knows what path I allow myself to walk into. when you had to read 19 packages each package contains more than 150 pages each page requires your brain to focus and your mind to be clear. I felt like I was walking on the sharp rocky path... I felt headset and the sore of the neck and the needs to spit it out... But this evening, when I look back over the last 8 weeks where I had no weekend to myself and where every evening was a reading everning, I was thankful for the courage I took, for the time I make to fit them in, and for the peer I foudn myself in, learn from, challenges, and secretly admire their bravery, their direct pointy comment, their most diplomatic way to put difficult question into the most eloquent and respectful sound way. I appeciate the challenge on north-south resoruce allocation and equity, the role of community, the role of the researcher, and the work we are trying to scrutinize so that we choose the best out of the best to support.
When you sit in front of your computer ONLINE, listening to 19 presentations, you learned something about the way in which effective presentation entails. I coudl tell you that it is not one wiht lots of graph and text, but it is one where a face was shown, age indicate, and a part of that person life or health or job or personal info were share to give us the audience a touch of ground reality. and that always capture my attention! I am still in soul searching to see who have put my name forward, to properly thank them for putting me through sleepless nights and coming out of those with a better undrestanding of climate, health, people, policy, system and research traslation that servces to protect those most at risk in time of global climate crisis and potential pandamic. Thank you DREAM4Health for letting me be in this space, learn, challenge, contribute.
